1.Who we are
Awaken is one ecosystem for finding, designing, building, furnishing and marketing property.
Awaken (operated by Awaken Homes) runs awakenestates.com: property listings and the marketplace (Estates, Autos, Heavy equipment, Stays, Rentals and Shops), Awaken Build (conceptual house design, documents and quantities), Furniture and Landscape design, Studio marketing tools, Tux & Veil for weddings and events, the Awaken agent network, and Zuri, the assistant inside Awaken.
This policy explains what information those features use, why, who else is involved, how long it is kept and the choices you have. If something here is unclear, contact us.
2.Your account and profile
We only ask for what an account needs, and extra details only when an action needs them.
When you create an account we store your name and email address, and either a securely hashed password or a link to your Google account if you choose Continue with Google. You can add a profile photo, phone number, country, city and business name, choose an account type, and set contact preferences (whether your phone, email or WhatsApp appear on things you publish).
Some actions ask for a detail at the moment it's needed — for example a phone number before you book, list a property or request a quote.
3.Contact information
Your email address identifies your account and signs you in. We use your contact details to reply when you contact us and to send messages about requests you make (for example a Tux & Veil order update). Your phone, email and WhatsApp number only appear publicly if you switch them on in your contact preferences.
4.Property and marketplace activity
- Listings you create — descriptions, prices, locations, photos, videos and documents you attach.
- Bookings, rental and quote requests, and the messages that go with them.
- Items you save or shortlist (stored on your device until you sign in, then in your account).
- Listing statistics shown to sellers — views, saves, shares and WhatsApp clicks. Visitor counting for shared links only happens with Analytics consent.
- Agent applications and verification documents, which are stored privately and reviewed by Awaken staff.
5.Build projects, designs and documents
Your designs are yours. Private projects stay private unless you share them.
Awaken Build stores the design choices you make (plot size, rooms, finishes, architecture), saved projects and versions, the documents generated from them, Bill of Quantities edits and any prices you enter, electrical points you place, and files you upload to a project's private vault. Furniture and Landscape designs, Studio projects and Labs designs are stored the same way.
If you invite a professional reviewer, we store the email address and the details you enter for them so they can open the drawings you chose to share. If you ask for a model expert, we store that request and the project it refers to.
Designs you haven't saved to your account can live only in your browser's local storage on that device.
6.Uploaded photos, videos and files
Photos, videos and documents you upload are stored with a media storage and delivery provider so they can be shown and resized. Public listing media is visible to anyone who can see the listing. Private uploads — verification documents, Build vault files and model-expert references — are only available to you, the people you share them with and authorised Awaken staff.
7.Enquiries, leads and support requests
When you send an enquiry about a listing, use the contact form or request a model expert, we record your name, the contact details you give, your message and a reference such as AW-CON-7K2Q9M. Enquiries about a listing are shared with the seller or agent responsible for it.
If you choose to continue on WhatsApp, we only pre-fill the reference and topic. WhatsApp is a separate service with its own privacy policy.
8.Payment-related records
Awaken does not currently take card payments inside the app. Where a plan or purchase is paid by bank transfer, we keep the records needed to confirm and reconcile it — amounts, dates, references, the status staff record and any proof of payment you upload. If card or wallet payments are added in future, the payment provider will handle card details and this policy will be updated.
10.Social publishing records
When you publish to a connected platform we keep a record of the campaign, the destination, the content you approved, when it was sent, whether the platform accepted it, the post identifier or link it returned, and any error — so you can see what happened and retry. Actions such as connecting and disconnecting are also written to an audit log.
11.Weddings and events (Tux & Veil)
Organisers can add guest names, contact details, RSVPs and seating to plan an event, and guests may open a Wedding Pass. The organiser is responsible for the guest details they add; guests can ask the organiser, or Awaken, to correct or remove them.
12.Zuri
Zuri uses what you type and the page you're on to answer, navigate or start an action inside Awaken. At present Zuri runs on Awaken's own systems and doesn't send your messages to an outside AI provider. Zuri only opens areas your account is allowed to see.
14.Analytics
With your Analytics consent we use Google Analytics to understand how pages are used, and Awaken's own counters for listing statistics. Without that consent these are not loaded. We don't use analytics to make decisions about you as an individual.
15.Device and technical information
Like most websites, our servers receive technical information with each request — IP address, browser and device type, language and the pages requested. We use it to deliver the site in your language, keep it secure, prevent abuse (for example rate limits on forms and sign-in) and fix problems.
16.How we use information
- To provide the features you use — accounts, listings, enquiries, designs, documents, publishing and support.
- To show public content you choose to publish, such as listings, shops and verified agent profiles.
- To keep Awaken secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep audit records of sensitive actions.
- To improve Awaken, using analytics only where you have consented.
- To meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
17.What is public and what is never public
Published listings, Awaken Shops and verified agent profiles are public and may be indexed by search engines.
Verification documents and government IDs, licence numbers, bookings, messages, account settings, drafts, private Build projects, Studio drafts and social connection tokens are never public. They are excluded from search engines and visible only to you, people you share them with, and authorised Awaken staff.
19.Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, encryption for social access tokens, role-based staff access and audit logs for sensitive actions. No system can be guaranteed completely secure; if you think your account has been misused, contact us straight away.
20.International users
Awaken serves people in Nigeria, Rwanda and elsewhere, including the diaspora. Our providers may process information in other countries. Where that happens we rely on providers' contractual and security commitments to protect it.
21.How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is open. Drafts and projects stay until you delete them or your account. When an account is deleted we remove or anonymise personal information, except limited records we must keep for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security or dispute purposes — for example transaction records or audit entries — which are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
22.Your rights and choices
- See and update your profile, photo and contact preferences in Settings.
- Change cookie choices at any time with Cookie Preferences.
- Disconnect social accounts in Settings → Connected channels.
- Request deletion of your account — see Delete your Awaken data.
- Ask about, correct or object to how we use your information through Contact → Privacy & data deletion.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example to receive a copy of your information or to complain to a data-protection authority. We'll respond to requests in line with the law that applies to you, and may need to confirm your identity first.
23.Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your account from Settings, or through the contact form if you can't sign in. The full process, what happens to connected social accounts and what may be retained are explained on Delete your Awaken data.
24.Children
Awaken is not intended for children and accounts are for adults. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
25.Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our features or practices change, and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted in Awaken.
26.Contact us
For anything about privacy or your data, use Contact → Privacy & data deletion. Every request receives a reference. You can also read our Terms of Service and learn more about Awaken.

9.Connected social accounts
Connecting Instagram shouldn't mean giving Awaken your Instagram password — and it doesn't.
You can choose to connect a Facebook Page, an Instagram professional (business or creator) account, TikTok or LinkedIn so you can publish Awaken marketing content to it. Authorisation happens on the provider's own sign-in and consent screen. Awaken never asks for your Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn password.
Awaken receives only the information and permissions you and the provider approve — typically the account or Page name and identifier, the permissions granted, and access (and, where the provider issues them, refresh) tokens. LinkedIn also shares the email address on your LinkedIn account as part of sign-in; Awaken doesn't store it or use it to create, link or change an Awaken account. Tokens are encrypted and stored on Awaken's servers only. They are never shown in the app, sent to your browser or published.
We use that access only to do what you ask, such as publishing a post you reviewed. Nothing is posted on your behalf without your action. Each platform's own terms and permission rules also apply.
Facebook Marketplace is not connected automatically: Awaken prepares the text and images for you to post yourself.
You can disconnect a connection at any time in Settings → Connected channels. Disconnecting asks the provider to revoke Awaken's access where the provider supports it, and deletes the stored tokens and connection details from Awaken.
